Beacon Rock State Park
Join Smith Rock Climbing School at Beacon Rock State Park for a day of rock climbing. This state park has historic significance and is situated along the North bank of the Columbia River. Named Beacon Rock by Lewis and Clark during the Corp of Discovery back in 1805. Camping is available at the park.
This area has great multi-pitch climbing available in the 5.7 range. Come spend a day with one of our guides for a great multi-pitch adventure close to the Portland metro area.
Basic Rock Climbing Course
Basic rock climbing technique such as body position and foot work as well as belaying, rappelling, and rope management are all covered in this entry-level rock climbing course with a heavy emphasis on getting in lots of fun climbing. Recommended for those who have either never climbed or have only climbed once or twice.
Cost: $125 per climber for a group of 2 or more.

Intermediate Rock Climbing Course
You will further hone your climbing skills by climbing longer and more difficult routes. We will study anchor systems in depth and the use of various types of protection. The finale is a multi-pitch climb.
