Looking to fully immerse yourself in the sport of rock climbing? Our three day course is a comprehensive rock climbing seminar in the world class climbing venue, Smith Rock State Park. The access to over 1,800 sport and trad climbs within a short hike from the car means we can maximize the time you spend on the rock learning skills and techniques and minimize hiking time and avoid crowded areas.
During three days in the birthplace of American sport climbing, you’ll work on your climbing technique and movement skills, choosing climbs that push your limits and create opportunities to learn. You’ll also learn technical skills like anchor-building, lead-belaying and rappelling. As you climb and converse with your guide you will tailor your program to the specific skills that you want to focus on. You may choose to spend time learning multi-pitch climbing techniques, focus on climbing difficult routes more efficiently, or begin to learn the foundations of trad climbing. Or you may sample all these options to get a feel for your interests.
During your trip you’ll also get to sample many different rock types and styles of climbing, so you’ll begin to feel at home in Smith Rock. It’s a destination that climbers from all over the world return to year after year. Our rock guides have been climbing at Smith Rock State Park for years and can take you to excellent rock routes and areas for your personal experience level.
